TV Channel Overview
El Hayat TV (قناة الحياة) is a privately operated Algerian television channel based in Sidi M'Hamed,
Algiers Province, Algeria. Arabic is its broadcast language, and the channel
presents a broad mix of news, talk programs, social topics, and cultural
content. Its programming is aimed primarily at an Algerian audience, while
the channel also reaches viewers in other parts of North Africa, the Middle
East, West Asia, and Europe.
News and information are central to the schedule, with discussion and talk formats providing space for political, social, and other public-interest subjects. Social and cultural programs broaden the channel’s output beyond news alone, giving El Hayat TV the character of a general-interest service with a substantial current-affairs component.
The channel was established in Algiers in 2018 by Hannachi Habet, president of the publishing company Epcom Plus. Its launch added another privately operated Arabic-language service to Algeria’s television sector. Since then, El Hayat TV has developed around a combination of news, discussion, and broader general-interest programming, which continues to shape the channel’s present-day profile.
