TV Channel Overview
Société de Radio et de Télévision du Bénin (SRTB) is Benin’s public-service broadcasting organization, based in Cotonou, Littoral Department, Benin. It manages television and radio services for audiences across the country, producing public-service content in French and Beninese national languages. Its remit covers general information, education, culture, and other programming intended for the public.
SRTB was created in 2023 through the merger of the former Office de Radiodiffusion et Télévision du Bénin (ORTB) and the Centre Multimédia des Adolescents et des Jeunes du Bénin (CMAJB). The organization currently groups three television channels and four radio services, and introduced a renewed public-media identity and programming structure in 2025.
Bénin TV — the public generalist television channel, combining national news and public affairs with morning programs, documentaries, cultural features, African cinema, sports, and entertainment.
Bénin TV Junior — a youth-oriented channel built around educational and entertainment programming, including learning formats, quizzes, music, fitness, and other content designed for younger audiences.
Bénin TV Alafia — a newer public television service within SRTB, introduced as part of the organization’s expanded three-channel television structure and given its own channel management in 2025.
