TV Channel Overview
Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) is Cameroon’s public radio and television
organization, based in Mballa II, Yaoundé. Established in 1987, CRTV produces
radio and television services as a public institution within the country’s
audiovisual sector.
Its main television service, CRTV, is a general-audience public channel covering national and international news together with public affairs, cultural programming, documentaries, magazines, economic topics, and entertainment. French and English are both used in its television output, and the schedule includes bilingual news editions. This bilingual programming corresponds to Cameroon’s two official languages, French and English.
Beyond the general channel, the organization operates specialized television services such as CRTV News and CRTV Sport, as well as national and regional radio services. CRTV’s television output also addresses regional developments, social issues, public institutions, culture, and events from different parts of Cameroon. Its programming therefore combines general national coverage with the educational and public-service functions associated with the country’s public broadcasting system.
