TV Channel Overview
eltrece (El Trece / Canal 13) is a Spanish-language general-interest television channel based in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It operates as a commercial broadcast channel in Buenos Aires, with a schedule designed for a broad audience rather than a single specialized genre.
News and current affairs are combined with entertainment, game and competition formats, fiction, and movies. Regular news coverage follows developments in Argentina and abroad, while other parts of the schedule feature studio entertainment, lifestyle-oriented programs, and scripted productions. This variety places eltrece within Argentina’s general-interest television sector, where information and entertainment share the same channel lineup.
The station began broadcasting in 1960 under the Canal 13 name. Over time, the service developed under Arte Radiotelevisivo Argentino S.A. (ARTEAR) and later adopted the eltrece brand, which remains its current identity.
