TV Channel Overview
Cubavisión Internacional (CVI) is Cuba’s international general-interest television channel, based in Havana. Launched in 1986, it was created to present Cuban news, culture, history, and everyday life to audiences beyond the country. Today it forms part of Cuba’s state television system, which operates within the institutional framework overseen by the Instituto de Información y Comunicación Social (ICS).
The channel combines news and current affairs with documentaries, cultural programs, music, sports, series, and other entertainment. Its predominantly Spanish-language schedule draws extensively on Cuban television production, while its own output also addresses subjects connected with Cuban society, national institutions, international relations, and cultural heritage.
Cubavisión Internacional has an explicitly international role within Cuba’s television system.
