TV Channel Overview

Canal 6 (Multimedios Televisión) is a Spanish-language Mexican television network based in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Originating in northern Mexico, it now serves multiple markets across the country, with coverage extending through northern, central, and western Mexico, including Mexico City, Guadalajara, Ciudad Juárez, Durango, León, and Torreón. Monterrey remains a production and news center for the network.

Its schedule combines news, entertainment, sports, talk and variety formats, lifestyle content, and drama. Regular newscasts cover events in Monterrey and other parts of Mexico, while sports programming has long been a recognizable part of the channel’s output. Entertainment and studio-based programs occupy much of the remaining schedule, giving Canal 6 a broad general-interest profile.

The television service began broadcasting in Monterrey in 1968 as Canal 12 and later became widely associated with the Multimedios Televisión name. In 2018, it adopted Canal 6 as its main on-air identity during an expansion into additional Mexican markets. That change placed the Monterrey service on virtual channel 6 and established a common channel identity for the network’s wider reach.
