Overview
Canal 28 Nuevo León (XHMNL-TDT) is a regional public and educational television station owned and operated by the government of the state of Nuevo León, under the public broadcaster Sistema de Radio y Televisión de Nuevo León (SRTVNL).
Originally launched in 1982 as part of a rural/educational network, the station was re-organized under state government control in 1984 and expanded over subsequent decades to cover the entire state via a network of transmitters.
Today, Canal 28 broadcasts a diverse mix of programming, including news, cultural and educational content, public affairs, regional information, sports and general entertainment.
Its mission emphasizes public service and regional identity — aiming to inform, educate and promote the culture and social life of Nuevo León through television and complementary media.
Canal 28’s signal reaches the vast majority of the state’s population through
a network of more than 20 transmitters, making it accessible beyond the
metropolitan area to rural and remote communities.
Live streaming of its programming ( → EN VIVO ) is also available through the channel’s official website, extending
access to viewers inside and outside the state.
