TV Channel Overview
Kompas TV is an Indonesian private television channel based in Central Jakarta, Special Capital Region of Jakarta. It is operated by PT Cipta Megaswara Televisi and belongs to KG Media, the media unit of Kompas Gramedia. The channel is named after Kompas, the Indonesian daily newspaper published by the same media group.
Launched in 2011, Kompas TV later developed into a news-oriented television network. Its programming is centered on Indonesian-language news and current affairs, with coverage of national developments, politics, public issues, business, and sports news. The channel also presents studio-based discussions, interviews, and other information-oriented programs. While its early programming included broader entertainment formats, Kompas TV has been identified mainly as a news-focused channel since its relaunch in 2016.
