TV Channel Overview
ATYRAÝ TV («ATYRAÝ» телеарнасы) is a regional television channel based
in Atyrau, Atyrau Region, Kazakhstan, and part of the state-owned "Qazaqstan"
Republican TV and Radio Corporation. Serving viewers across the region,
it broadcasts in Kazakh and Russian, with locally produced news and information
forming a regular part of the schedule.
Regional affairs shape much of ATYRAÝ TV’s output. News bulletins and public-affairs programs cover social, economic, political, and cultural developments in Atyrau Region, while the wider schedule includes educational features, entertainment, music, drama series, animation, and other general-interest programs. Television broadcasting in Atyrau has a distinctive history. Local television first appeared in the city, then known as Guryev, in 1967, but that service ended in 1976. Atyrau television returned to regular broadcasting in 1990 and later operated under the Kazakhstan-Atyrau name. It is now branded ATYRAÝ within the Qazaqstan regional television network.
