Overview
Turkmen TV, officially known as The State Committee of Turkmenistan for
Television, Radio Broadcasting, and Cinematography, is the national public
broadcasting organization of Turkmenistan. It operates eight television
channels: Altyn Asyr, Ýaşlyk, Miras, Turkmenistan, Türkmen Owazy, Aşgabat,
Türkmen Sporty (formerly Türkmenistan Sport), and Arkadag.
Altyn Asyr is the flagship channel of the State Committee and broadcasts news, events,
cookery shows, public affairs programs, political talk shows, and various
other programs in the Turkmen language.
Ýaşlyk is an entertainment television channel.
Miras is a Turkmen-language television channel specializing in Turkmen art and
culture.
Turkmenistan (TV Channel) is an international channel broadcasting in seven languages (English,
Russian, Chinese, French, German, Arabic, and Persian), mainly offering
news and current affairs programs.
Türkmen Owazy is a music television channel that was launched in 2009.
Aşgabat (Ashgabat) is a Turkmen-language TV channel that offers news and informational
programs related to the city of Ashgabat, the capital and largest city
of Turkmenistan.
Türkmen Sporty, formerly known as Türkmenistan Sport, is a sports television channel
that was launched in 2012.
Arkadag is the newest channel of Turkmen Tv, but it is not always online.
