TV Channel Overview
Based in Boulogne-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine, La Chaîne Info (LCI) is
a French-language national news channel belonging to the TF1 Group. Established
in 1994, it was the first continuous news television channel created in
France, giving it a distinctive place in the development of the country's
television news sector.
News and current affairs form the core of LCI's programming. French politics, international affairs, economic questions and major social issues are recurring areas of coverage. Rather than relying only on short news bulletins, the channel makes extensive use of interviews, studio discussions, reports and analytical formats that examine the context and implications of major events. Recent programming descriptions on TF1 Info continue to emphasize analysis, debate and reporting from the field.
LCI is also integrated into the TF1 Group's broader news organization. In 2022, the digital news operations of TF1 and LCI were brought together under the TF1 INFO brand.
