TV Channel Overview
Focused on Lyon and its metropolitan area, BFM Lyon is a French-language
local news television channel based in Lyon, Rhône, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes,
France. Its reporting follows events and issues that directly affect the
city and surrounding communities, placing local information at the center
of its output.
News coverage spans municipal and metropolitan affairs, transport and traffic, weather, business and economic developments, sport, culture, housing, and other aspects of everyday life in the Lyon area. Interviews, field reports, studio discussions, and regular news updates are used to examine local decisions, public issues, and significant events as they develop.
The channel began broadcasting under the BFM Lyon identity in September 2019, succeeding Télé Lyon Métropole (TLM), a long-established local television service in Lyon. BFM Lyon therefore combines the continuity of local television in the area with an editorial format centered primarily on news and current affairs.
