Duna Média, officially known as Duna Médiaszolgáltató, is Hungary's public service media organization headquartered in Budapest. The company was established through the integration of several former Hungarian public broadcasting institutions, including Magyar Televízió (MTV), Duna Televízió, Magyar Rádió, and the national news agency Magyar Távirati Iroda (MTI). Its television operations are managed within Hungary's wider public media structure connected to the Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund (MTVA).
The organization operates several national television channels with different broadcasting roles. M1 is primarily dedicated to news and current affairs programming, including domestic and international reports, interviews, public affairs coverage, and political discussions. M2 focuses mainly on children's programming during daytime hours and youth-oriented content in the evenings. M3 previously operated as an archive and retro television channel presenting classic Hungarian programs and historical broadcasts. M4 Sport specializes in sports coverage, including domestic leagues, international competitions, and major sporting events, while M4 Sport+ provides additional coverage for parallel sports broadcasts. M5 concentrates on educational, cultural, literary, and arts-related programming.
Duna serves as a general-interest television channel carrying drama series, films, entertainment, cultural broadcasts, and public service programming. Duna World is aimed primarily at Hungarian-speaking audiences abroad and presents cultural, informational, and entertainment content connected to Hungary and Hungarian communities overseas.
