Public-service media provides a useful way to read Montenegro’s television landscape at different geographic scales. TVCG MNE, operated by the national public broadcaster RTCG in Podgorica, presents Montenegro-focused news, culture, history, education, music, and other programming. At the local level, Radio Televizija Nikšić and Radio Televizija Herceg Novi serve their respective communities with coverage of public affairs, culture, education, sport, tourism, and everyday community life. The broadcasters represented here use Montenegrin and show how public media can connect national perspectives with the concerns of individual cities.
Squid TV places these services in context through their location, programming focus, institutional background, and geographic role. Following them from Podgorica to Nikšić and Herceg Novi offers a way to see how television in Montenegro operates across national and local public-service settings, linking national information and culture with community-level reporting and civic life.
