BBC Arabic TV (تلفزيون بي بي سي عربي) is the Arabic-language television news service of BBC News Arabic, based
in London, England, United Kingdom. The television channel was launched
on 11 March 2008 as part of the BBC’s Arabic-language international news
operation, serving audiences across the Middle East, North Africa, and
the wider Arab world.
Its journalism centers on regional and international news, with reporting on politics, economics, society, conflict, culture, and other public affairs. News bulletins are accompanied by interviews, discussion, analysis, and longer-form reporting, drawing on BBC journalists and correspondents in the region and elsewhere. The service places particular emphasis on developments affecting Arabic-speaking audiences while also covering major events around the world.
BBC Arabic television expanded from its original schedule to a full 24-hour
service in January 2009. Today, it is part of the BBC’s international news
output for Arabic-speaking audiences.
