TV Channel Overview
ICTV is a Ukrainian nationwide television channel based in Kyiv. It is operated by International Commercial Television and Radio Company (ICTV), which is part of the Starlight Media group. The channel began broadcasting in 1992 and identifies itself as Ukraine's first non-state nationwide television channel. For much of its history, ICTV combined news and current affairs with entertainment, films, series, and other general-interest programming. News has long been one of the channel's principal areas of production.
Since 2022, ICTV has participated in United News, a joint national news telethon involving several Ukrainian media groups and broadcasters. In December 2022, Starlight Media launched ICTV2 to carry entertainment programs, films, and series previously associated with ICTV. ICTV, meanwhile, continues to broadcast the nationwide United News telethon. ICTV2 operates as a separate television channel within the same media group.
