TV Channel Overview
Kanal 7 is a Turkish-language general-interest television channel based in Bayrampaşa District, Istanbul, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Operated by Hayat Görsel Yayıncılık A.Ş., it carries a broad schedule combining drama, lifestyle programming, news, and religious content.
Drama series occupy much of the daily lineup, alongside news bulletins, discussion programs, health and lifestyle shows, travel and food programs, and Islamic programs addressing faith, worship, family life, and everyday religious questions. Films and other entertainment content also appear in the schedule. Islamic and family-oriented themes are a recurring part of this general programming mix.
Kanal 7 began broadcasting in 1994, during the period when private television was becoming established in Turkey. The same year, legislation created the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) and introduced a formal framework for private broadcasting. Its establishment coincided with a broader expansion of privately operated radio and television services, placing Kanal 7 among the channels that emerged during the early institutional development of Turkey’s private television sector.
