TV Channel Overview
TGRT Haber is a Turkish-language news and current affairs channel based
in Bahçelievler District, Istanbul, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Operated
by TGRT Haber TV A.Ş. within İhlas Holding, it reports on developments
in Turkey and abroad, primarily for audiences in Turkey.
Its television output covers politics, the economy, business, society, sports, health, technology, culture, and other current topics. News bulletins are accompanied by interviews, discussion programs, and analysis featuring guests from relevant fields. Reporting follows both Turkey’s domestic agenda and international developments, while subject-specific programs provide additional context on public affairs and economic and social issues.
TGRT Haber began broadcasting in 2004 as a thematic news channel after the establishment of İhlas Yayın Holding in 2003. In 2017, the channel revised its broadcasting strategy around continuous news coverage. This news-focused direction followed an earlier change in İhlas Group’s television activities: the general-interest TGRT TV was sold in 2006, while TGRT Haber remained focused on news broadcasting.
