Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI; مؤسسة دبي للإعلام) is a public corporation headquartered in Oud Metha, Umm Hurair Second,
Dubai, Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Affiliated with the Dubai
Media Council, it operates television, radio, newspapers, digital media,
printing, and distribution. Its television division serves audiences in
Dubai, the wider UAE, and the Arab region through Arabic-language services
and Dubai One, an English-language channel.
DMI’s television division currently includes six individual channels and Dubai Sports, a multi-channel sports service.
Dubai TV (تلفزيون دبي), which began broadcasting in 1969, is the official television channel of the Emirate of Dubai, combining news, public affairs, economic coverage, entertainment, and Arabic drama while covering official events and activities in Dubai and the UAE.
Sama Dubai (سما دبي), launched in 2005, focuses on Emirati and Gulf society, culture, heritage, and community-oriented programming, with Emirati Arabic forming part of its local identity.
Dubai Sports (دبي الرياضية), established in 1998, comprises sports channels covering UAE, Arab, and international competitions together with analysis and other sports programming.
Noor Dubai TV (نور دبي), launched in 2008, presents social and family-oriented programming alongside subjects such as health, education, economics, and sports within a moderate Islamic framework.
Dubai One (دبي ون), launched in 2004, is an English-language channel aimed at English-speaking audiences in the region, combining international films and drama with entertainment, comedy, talk formats, and an English-language UAE news bulletin.
Dubai Racing (دبي ريسينج) specializes in horse racing, camel racing, falconry, and related coverage of racing events in the UAE and abroad.
Dubai Zaman (دبي زمان) draws on television archives to present classic programs, drama, and comedy from earlier periods.
DMI was established by Dubai law in 2003. A new law issued in 2022 retained
DMI as a public corporation operating on a commercial basis and affiliated
it with the Dubai Media Council, which oversees Dubai’s broader media strategy.
Within the television operation, DMI’s News Centre produces and develops
news bulletins and news programs for Dubai TV, Sama Dubai, Noor Dubai,
Dubai Sports, Dubai Racing, and Dubai One. This shared newsroom provides
a common production base for local, regional, and international news across
television services that otherwise have different editorial and program
focuses.
