TV Channel Overview

Seven Network is an Australian commercial free-to-air television network based in Sydney, New South Wales. Its principal service, commonly known as Seven or Channel 7, carries a general-interest schedule combining news and current affairs, entertainment, drama, factual and lifestyle programs, and sports for audiences across Australia.

The network also operates a group of complementary free-to-air channels. 7two, 7mate, 7flix, and 7Bravo extend Seven's television offering with different mixes of entertainment, drama, movies, reality, factual content, and other specialized programming. Together, these services give the network a broader range of programming than its main channel alone.

Seven's television history dates to 1956, when stations using the VHF 7 frequency began operating in Sydney and Melbourne. The stations later developed into a national network, adopting the Network 7 name in 1970. Seven subsequently expanded its presence in regional Australia through acquisitions of regional television operations. Today, it forms one of Australia's national commercial television networks, alongside the country's public broadcasters and other commercial networks.
