TV Channel Overview
KYMA-DT is a local television station licensed to Yuma, Arizona, United
States, serving the Yuma-El Centro market across southwestern Arizona and
southeastern California. Its current operation brings together NBC 11 and
CBS 13, combining network programming with locally produced news and information
for communities throughout the Desert Southwest.
Regional reporting focuses on Yuma County and Imperial County, with additional attention to border communities and nearby areas. News coverage includes public safety, local government, education, agriculture, immigration, and other issues affecting the region. Weather reporting addresses extreme heat, monsoon conditions, wind, and other desert weather, while sports coverage follows local schools, colleges, and teams of regional interest.
The present KYMA-DT traces its license history to KBLU-TV, which began broadcasting in 1963. The station later operated under the KYEL-TV and KSWT call signs and returned to CBS affiliation in 1994. In 2020, KSWT adopted the KYMA-DT call sign as its operations were consolidated with the former KYMA television service, bringing the market's NBC and CBS programming together under the current station structure.
