TV Channel Overview
San Francisco Government TV (SFGovTV) is the government television service
of the City and County of San Francisco, California, United States. Operated
as a division of the city’s Department of Technology, it provides television
coverage and original programming focused on municipal government and life
in San Francisco.
Public proceedings are a major part of the service, including meetings of the Board of Supervisors and city commissions. SFGovTV also carries announcements from the Mayor, city events, meetings, and other civic activities. Original productions extend beyond government proceedings to subjects involving city services, municipal departments, neighborhoods, local culture, and issues affecting San Francisco residents.
The service operates SFGovTV and SFGovTV2, two television channels dedicated to government programming. Together with its coverage of public meetings, the channels provide information about the work of city departments and activities taking place across San Francisco, forming part of the city’s broader public communications operations.
