TV Channel Overview
Boise State Television (BTV) is the university television service of Boise
State University in Boise, Idaho, United States. It is administered by
University Television, while University Television Productions (UTP) creates
much of its programming with professional staff and student production
crews.
BTV presents educational, cultural, sports, and campus-related programming produced by Boise State University. Its content includes distinguished guest lectures, concerts and recitals, student-produced shows, club sports, university events, and programs that connect the university with the wider Boise community. Students involved with UTP gain practical experience in areas such as writing, camera and audio operation, graphics, directing, and live production.
The university’s television production activities date back to 1986, when UTP began recording lectures, campus events, and non-revenue athletic events for broadcast and archival use. UTP later assumed responsibility for programming Boise State’s television channel, which was rebranded as BTV. The service continues to combine university programming with hands-on media-production opportunities for students.
