TV Channel Overview
ERCN Channel 12 is a community access television service based in East
Rochester, New York. Operated by the local cable television commission,
it provides locally focused programming for East Rochester and neighboring
communities, with municipal meetings, community information, and local
events among its subjects.
Board meetings are an established part of ERCN’s coverage. Over the years, the channel has also presented school productions, high school sports, and other community events. Its community bulletin board accepts notices for East Rochester, Pittsford, Perinton, and Fairport, with priority given to local government information, charitable causes and events, and residents of the communities it serves.
ERCN began broadcasting on November 23, 1993, as the East Rochester Community Access Station. The service used the name East Rochester Community News, shortened to ERCN-TV 12. Since its launch, it has remained closely associated with East Rochester while providing community-oriented television content for the surrounding area.
