TV Channel Overview
WENY-TV is a television station based in the Elmira area of New York, serving
the Twin Tiers region of southern New York and northern Pennsylvania. The
station carries programming from both ABC and CBS, while its local news
operation reports on communities across the region.
Local coverage includes breaking news, public safety, government, education, community affairs, and other developments affecting residents of the Twin Tiers. Weather is another important part of WENY’s service, with regional forecasts, radar information, and severe weather updates. Sports reporting covers high school, college, and other events of local interest.
WENY’s reporting area extends across several counties in southern New York, including Chemung, Steuben, Schuyler, Tioga, and Tompkins, as well as Bradford and Tioga counties in northern Pennsylvania. This cross-state focus gives the station a regional role connecting communities around Elmira, Corning, Ithaca, and the wider Twin Tiers area.
