TV Channel Overview
BRIC is a nonprofit arts and media organization based in Downtown Brooklyn,
New York City. Its work spans the arts, media, education, and civic engagement,
with community media forming an important part of its activities. BRIC
supports artists and media makers by providing resources, training, and
platforms for developing and sharing locally created work. Its community
media division operates two television networks: BRIC TV and Brooklyn Free
Speech.
BRIC TV is a nonprofit community television channel and digital network featuring original programming produced by and for BRIC. Its output includes local news and social justice reporting, arts and music coverage, comedy, documentaries, and other productions focused on Brooklyn.
Brooklyn Free Speech is BRIC’s nonprofit public-access television network, centered on community-produced programming. It currently includes Channel 1, Channel 2, Channel 3, Channel 4, and Channel HD, providing airtime for work created by local residents and community producers.
Together, the two networks reflect different parts of BRIC’s media mission: BRIC-produced original programming on BRIC TV and community-created public-access programming across the Brooklyn Free Speech channels.
