Overview
Town Meeting TV is a regional government-access television channel based
in Burlington, Vermont, United States. Launched in 1990, it serves Burlington,
South Burlington, Colchester, Essex, Essex Junction, Williston, and Winooski
in Chittenden County. Its coverage includes municipal meetings, elections,
legislative activity, press conferences, community events, public policy
discussions, and other civic matters.
The channel is overseen by the Town Meeting TV Board of Trustees, whose
members are appointed by the participating municipalities. The trustees
contract with CCTV Center for Media & Democracy, a nonprofit community
media organization based in Burlington, to manage the channel’s operations.
Town Meeting TV also maintains an extensive video archive documenting local government proceedings, elections, public discussions, and community history. It provides production resources and media education that support participation by residents and community organizations. Through its government coverage, public-affairs programming, and archival work, the channel helps residents follow local decision-making and civic life across its member communities.
