TV Channel Overview
FETV is a Spanish-language Catholic television channel based in Panama City, Panama Province, Panama. It is operated by Fundación para la Educación en la Televisión, an organization created in 1990 from an educational television initiative associated with the Catholic Church in Panama. FETV began television broadcasting in 1992.
Religious programming is central to the channel’s present schedule, which includes Mass, prayer, devotional content, children’s programming, and news and information. In 2016, FETV adopted a more explicitly Catholic identity, emphasizing evangelization and Catholic communication while retaining the educational roots reflected in the foundation’s name and history.
FETV operates as a free-to-air television service. Current regulatory records list FETV terrestrial coverage in Panama and Panamá Oeste, as well as Colón, Coclé, Herrera, Los Santos, Veraguas, Chiriquí, and Darién. Its combination of Catholic worship, religious formation, educational origins, and general information gives the channel a distinct faith-based profile within Panama’s Spanish-language television sector.
