TV Channel Overview
Oʻzbekiston Milliy teleradiokompaniyasi (OʻzMTRK; National Television and
Radio Company of Uzbekistan) is Uzbekistan’s national television and radio
broadcasting organization, based in Tashkent. The organization brings together
central television channels with different editorial roles and a network
of regional television services. The shorter form MTRK is also commonly
used on the organization’s website and in its materials.
MTRK’s central television services cover general programming, news and
analysis, culture, education, history, children’s content, film, sports,
community and social subjects, youth programming, and music. Together with
its regional services, these channels form a television structure combining
general national programming, specialized subject channels, and geographically
based regional broadcasting.
Central Television Channels
Oʻzbekiston 24 is a news and information channel covering current affairs,
public issues, and developments in Uzbekistan.
Oʻzbekiston is a general-interest television channel combining informational,
social, cultural, and educational programming.
Dunyo bo‘ylab concentrates on travel, geography, nature, places, and cultural
subjects connected with Uzbekistan and the wider world.
Yoshlar is oriented toward younger audiences, with programming addressing
youth-related social, educational, cultural, and entertainment subjects.
Navo is a music-focused television channel associated with the Yoshlar
broadcasting structure.
Mahalla covers social and community subjects, including family life, traditions,
everyday issues, and topics connected with Uzbekistan’s mahalla communities.
Sport is MTRK’s general sports television service, covering competitions,
athletes, sporting events, and sports-related information.
Futbol TV is a specialized football channel operating within MTRK’s sports
broadcasting structure.
Madaniyat va ma’rifat focuses on culture and education, including arts,
literature, cultural heritage, learning, and related intellectual subjects.
Kinoteatr is devoted primarily to film and cinema-related programming.
Oʻzbekiston tarixi is a specialized history channel dealing with the history
of Uzbekistan, historical events, personalities, heritage, and related
subjects.
Bolajon is a children’s television channel with educational, cultural,
and entertainment content intended for younger audiences.
Regional Television Channels
MTRK also maintains regional television services connected with different
parts of Uzbekistan. These include Toshkent and Nurafshon TV in the Tashkent
area, as well as Samarqand, Andijon, Buxoro, Jizzax, Navoiy, Surxondaryo,
Qashqadaryo, Namangan, Xorazm, Sirdaryo, and Farg‘ona. Qaraqalpaqstan represents
the Republic of Karakalpakstan within this regional broadcasting structure.
The regional channels add locally based broadcasting to MTRK’s central
television services, linking the national broadcasting organization with
the country’s regions and Karakalpakstan.
Programming across the network is primarily in Uzbek, while other languages
are also used in particular regional services, including Karakalpak, Russian,
and Kazakh.
