TV Channel Overview
With an international rather than primarily domestic news remit, WION (World Is One News) is an English-language news channel operated by Zee Media Corporation Limited from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. Launched in 2016, it was developed as Zee Media's global English news service and gives substantial attention to events outside India as well as developments within the country.
International politics, diplomacy, conflict, business, technology, climate, and other cross-border issues occupy a large part of its reporting. Coverage extends across regions including South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and North America, with interviews, analysis, and field reporting used to explain developments in a broader geopolitical context. Indian and South Asian perspectives are incorporated into its treatment of global stories.
Sport, science, culture, health, and other general-interest subjects also appear across the channel's output. Within Zee Media's multilingual television network, WION serves as the group's internationally oriented English news channel, distinct from its national and regional-language services.
