TV Channel Overview
Based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, Zee News (ज़ी न्यूज़) is a Hindi-language national news and current affairs television channel operated by Zee Media Corporation Limited. Within the company’s television portfolio, it serves as the flagship national news channel and operates as a free-to-air service.
National affairs form a substantial part of its output, with reporting on politics, government, the economy, business, and other public-interest issues. Developments from different parts of India are covered alongside international events, while sports, technology, entertainment, and other general-interest subjects extend the channel’s news agenda. Interviews, studio discussions, analysis, and field reports complement regular news bulletins and breaking-news coverage.
Zee News grew from Zee’s earlier television news operations, which began with news bulletins on Zee TV. The dedicated Zee News channel was launched in 1999 as a 24-hour Hindi news service. Zee Media subsequently expanded its television news business into additional national and regional services.
