TV Channel Overview
Al Hadath (قناة الحدث) is an Arabic-language news channel based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and
part of Al Arabiya News Network. It serves audiences across the Arab world
with continuous coverage of fast-moving regional and international developments,
placing particular emphasis on breaking news and stories that require sustained
attention.
Its schedule is shaped around developing stories as they unfold, using news bulletins, field reports, interviews, rapid updates, and studio analysis to follow events over extended periods. Compared with Al Arabiya, which covers a broader mix of political, economic, social, and other current-affairs topics, Al Hadath tends to devote more time to a smaller number of major stories. Political developments, regional crises, conflicts, diplomacy, and international events may therefore remain in focus for longer, with correspondents, interviews, and analytical discussion adding context as new information emerges.
Al Hadath was introduced as a sister news service to Al Arabiya in the early 2010s, with its formal launch as a standalone channel announced in 2014. In 2023, it opened a new newsroom and studios in Riyadh. The wider Al Arabiya News Network completed the transfer of its television channels and editorial, administrative, and operational functions to Riyadh in 2025.
