TV Channel Overview

Ronahi TV (RonahĂ® TV) is a Kurdish television channel based in Qamishli, Al-Hasakah Governorate, Syria. Broadcasting primarily in Kurdish, with content also produced in Arabic and English, it focuses closely on northern and eastern Syria while following developments affecting Kurdish communities elsewhere in Syria and the wider region.

News and current affairs form a substantial part of the schedule, with reporting on political, economic, security, and social developments. The channel also covers local community issues, culture and the arts, women’s affairs, sports, and everyday life. Its reporting gives particular attention to cities and communities across northern and eastern Syria, while regional and international events are included when they have relevance to the area or to Kurdish audiences.

Ronahi TV began broadcasting in 2011 from Brussels, Belgium. Its broadcasting activities were subsequently transferred to northern and eastern Syria, where the channel developed studios and reporting operations in the region. By 2016, its broadcasting center had been moved there, placing the channel directly within the media environment it principally covers.
