Overview
Luys TV is a bilingual general-interest television channel based in Istanbul’s
Şişli District, serving both the Armenian-Turkish community and broader
Turkish audiences. The station broadcasts a diverse line-up that includes
news updates, cultural and lifestyle features, entertainment programs,
talk shows, and children’s content. Approximately 70% of its programming
is produced in Western Armenian, while the remaining 30% is in Turkish,
reflecting its mission to preserve Armenian linguistic heritage while promoting
intercultural communication.
As Turkey's first Armenian-language television outlet integrated into the
national media landscape, Luys TV aims to act as a cultural bridge. Its
schedule features Armenian children’s and educational segments, Turkish-language
interview formats, and bilingual shows highlighting arts, community life,
and social topics. The channel is available via the Türksat 3A satellite
and through the D-Smart platform (Channel 160), in addition to continuous
web streaming through its official website.
Carrying the meaning of “light” in Armenian, Luys TV strives to illuminate the voices and stories of the Armenian community in Turkey while reaching viewers across the satellite coverage area.
