TV Channel Overview
Almahriah TV (قناة المهرية الفضائية) is an Arabic-language Yemeni television channel based in Istanbul, Turkey.
It serves audiences interested in developments across Yemen, with particular
attention to the eastern governorates of Al Mahrah and Socotra while also
covering other parts of the country.
News bulletins and current-affairs programs follow political, economic, security, and public-service developments, alongside regional and international events. Reports, interviews, and discussion formats address social issues and community concerns, while cultural coverage gives space to Yemeni heritage and topics connected with the country’s eastern regions. This mix gives the channel a broader profile than continuous news alone.
Almahriah began experimental broadcasting in 2019 and officially launched in 2020 from Istanbul. Its launch followed an extended period of preparation and was supported by a network of correspondents covering Yemen’s governorates. From the beginning, the channel combined nationwide reporting with a distinctive eastern-Yemen perspective centered on Al Mahrah and Socotra.
