Yemen TV Channels

For Yemeni television, where a channel operates often tells part of its story. Yemen TV and Aden TV are state services currently working from Riyadh, while other Yemeni channels represented here are based in Istanbul and Cairo and continue to serve audiences and cover developments inside Yemen. Arabic is shared across these services, whose programming ranges from national news and public affairs to society, culture, education, and regional coverage, including attention to eastern Yemen.
These different operating bases give geography unusual importance when looking at Yemeni television. Squid TV connects each broadcaster with its working base, programming priorities, and relationship to audiences inside Yemen. Some focus broadly on national developments, while others give greater attention to particular regions or social and cultural issues. Taken together, the profiles illustrate how Yemeni-oriented television can remain closely connected with the country even when production and broadcasting operations are located beyond its borders.
