Overview
Traverse Area Community Media (TACM), formerly known as UpNorth Media Center,
is a community media organization based in Traverse City, Michigan, serving
northwest Lower Michigan. It operates public-access and government-access
television channels that present locally produced programming, including
community-based shows and coverage of public meetings.
The organization supports media creation through training programs and by providing access to video and audio production equipment. These initiatives enable residents, organizations, and local institutions to develop and share content that reflects regional culture and community activities.
TACM is operated by the nonprofit Land Information Access Association (LIAA), which focuses on civic engagement and the use of technology to support community participation. Selected programs and live stream content are introduced through its official website and digital platforms.
