TV Network Overview

UniMás is a Spanish-language commercial national broadcast television network in the United States operated by TelevisaUnivision. It is a sister network to Univision, with its own program schedule and network identity. UniMás has developed an entertainment-oriented lineup that includes sports, reality and competition formats, drama series, movies, and other Spanish-language programming for U.S. Hispanic audiences.

A distinctive part of UniMás is its use of alternative or complementary programming within the broader TelevisaUnivision television portfolio. Sports, reality programs, dramas, and movies have been recurring elements of its schedule, while more recent programming has also emphasized game shows and true-crime formats. This approach gives UniMás a programming identity separate from the company’s other broadcast properties while allowing it to draw on Spanish-language content from a variety of production sources.

UniMás also has a local broadcast presence in television markets across the United States. Local UniMás stations operate in cities and regions including Los Angeles, Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando, and other markets, sometimes alongside sister Univision stations. Depending on the market, these stations may combine UniMás network programming with local or regional content, including news, sports, and community-oriented material.

The network originated as TeleFutura, a general-interest Spanish-language broadcast network launched in 2002. In 2012, Univision Communications announced that TeleFutura would be transformed into UniMás, with the new name introduced on air in 2013. The change brought an increased emphasis on sports, drama, action-oriented series, and other entertainment programming. UniMás later became part of TelevisaUnivision and continues as one of the company’s U.S. Spanish-language broadcast networks.
