TV Channel Overview
Aden TV (قناة عدن الفضائية) is an Arabic-language state television channel affiliated with Yemen’s
internationally recognized government. Historically rooted in Aden, Aden
Governorate, Yemen, it currently operates from a temporary headquarters
in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The channel retains a strong connection with Aden,
where television facilities and new production studios are being rebuilt
and developed.
Its output combines national and regional news with current affairs and general-interest programming. Coverage follows political, economic, security, and public-service developments in Yemen, together with regional and international events. Sports, studio discussions, cultural subjects, and other programs broaden the schedule beyond daily news, while developments in Aden and elsewhere in Yemen remain a regular focus.
Aden TV began broadcasting in 1964. Its facilities in Aden were heavily affected by fighting in 2015, disrupting normal operations. The channel later resumed work from Saudi Arabia and continues to describe Riyadh as its temporary headquarters. At the same time, reconstruction projects in Aden are intended to restore and expand the station’s television production capacity there.
