Iran TV Channels
| Home > Middle East > Iran |
Iranian television operates across both domestic and international broadcasting through Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), based in Tehran. Its Persian-language national channels serve different functions, including general programming, news and current affairs, education, science, and culture. IRIB also operates international television in English, Arabic, Spanish, and other languages, extending its broadcasting beyond audiences within Iran.
The channels presented here illustrate these different roles within the same national broadcasting system. Their profiles distinguish between domestic general television, national news, educational and cultural programming, entertainment, and international news services, while also identifying language, audience, and programming focus. Examining these functions side by side provides a clearer picture of how Iran’s television system combines Persian-language national broadcasting with multilingual services directed toward audiences beyond the country.
