Qatar’s television media operates across very different geographic scales. Qatar Television provides general national programming from Doha, while Al Jazeera Arabic and Al Jazeera English use the capital as a base for regional and global news. Nearby Lusail is home to Al Araby TV and Al Araby 2, adding Arabic-language news, culture, arts, drama, and entertainment for audiences across the Arab world.
This combination gives Qatar a television presence that is both domestic and outward-looking. The broadcaster profiles identify where services are based, the languages they use, the audiences they address, and the subjects they emphasize. Comparing national, regional, and international roles provides insight into Qatar’s own media structure while also showing how Doha and Lusail function as bases for news coverage and cultural programming directed toward audiences across the Middle East and beyond.
